GALLERY RENTAL SPACE
dizegno gallery faces vibrant Markham Street in Mirvish Village, a colourful Victorian neighbourhood undergoing a renaissance of its former art hub status from the 60’s, with a mix of galleries, artisan shops, restaurants, holistic health and antique stores, and vintage movie and clothing boutiques. The quarter, southwest of Bathurst and Bloor Streets, is located between the Annex area to the east and KoreaTown to the west.
The interior space has 36 running feet of display wall and a large display window from floor to (almost) ceiling, facing east, topped with a cut-glass fan light. Ceiling height is 10.5’ with suspended track lighting. The painted plank floor and exposed brick fireplace add additional touches of warmth and charm from another era.
Rental fee is $650 + HST for 15 days: installation on Friday, take down on Sunday.
A deposit of $300 is required 8 weeks in advance of the opening, and the remaining $350 + HST is due by the opening date. An additional $100 security fee will be returned in full if the premises are left in the same condition as when rented.
Included in the rental fee is a listing on Slate website as well as on the dizegno website.
Artists are responsible for other advertising, invitations and mailings, and opening reception.
Artists are required to be present during their gallery hours, although some assistance may be available depending on the time of year.
Submissions to rent the space should include:
· Sample of works on CD or slides
· Image list with titles, dimensions, dates, and media
· Stamped, self-addressed envelope if material is to be returned
